This piece is part of my fine art collection, with a theme centred around phobias. This is the first of four pieces showcased on my portfolio.​

This is an observational drawing of my mum who herself is an anxious person. I captured this frightened expression and looked at other artists for inspiration. Casey Baugh particularly stood out to me as her use of gestural mark-making perfectly reflects the daunting dramatic mood I want for this piece. Using similar techniques I created a bold pencil drawing with a powerful contrast between the realism in the face and the messy, chaotic background.
